Wonderful
30 pages away from finishing my second Richard Russo. An amazing writer and really knows how to write about the soul of a person, the truth, how the everyday mundane activities and interactions can be anything but. I highly recommend these two novels.
Two of many favorite quotes: "How'd you like to deal with this for about a week?" the young woman asked. . ."How about for a day? After twenty-four hours you wouldn't know whether to eat shit, chase rabbits or bark at the moon."
And less funny, but certainly more poignant: "An imperfect human heart, perfectly shattered, was her conclusion. A condition so common as to be virtually universal, rendering issues of right and wrong almost incidental."
